Amber Webb-Bowerman Memorial Foundation rss feed

Welcome

The Amber Webb-Bowerman Memorial Foundation is a registered charity that honours the memory of Calgary journalist Amber Bowerman (née Webb). Dedicated to quality in writing, reporting and the arts, Amber encouraged and supported young journalists and artists similarly committed to their own careers.

By providing scholarships and awards, the Foundation aims to foster the achievement of excellence, and to broaden scholastic opportunities for western Canadian students in journalism and all artistic disciplines.

The Foundation also partnered with the Western Magazine Awards Foundation to provide the inaugural Student Writing Award, which was presented in Vancouver on June 19th to Jonathan Graham for his story “A House Divided,” which appeared in VancouverMagazine.

Sugar Bowl Fundraiser

The Foundation would like to thank all of the participants, donors and sponsors of the first annual Sugar Bowl fundraiser. In particular, we'd like to thank our beer and wine sponsors Big Rock and Tinhorn Creek. The fundraiser was a great success and has helped raise money for a scholarship in Amber's name at SAIT Polytechnic. To get on our mailing list for future events, e-mail info@amberbowerman.ca. Check back soon for photos and updates from the Sugar Bowl.
